Limerick Life Update

My thoughts are quite shapeless in form
While sitting up here in this dorm.
Though it's break, so they say,
I'm still busy today
And my laziness now is the norm.

Tomorrow I've got an audition
So I've stockpiles of rabid ambition
I've something to wear
(given up on my hair)
To get summerstock work is my mission.

The life of an actor is hard,
and worse in this single regard:
Chinese families will sneer
at my chosen career
so his parents think I'm a retard.

JAPANESE 102: Revenge of the Grammar (a.k.a. Fuck Babelfish)

こんばんは!
私はケイトちゃんですよ。
今、私は勉強します。ときどきちょっと難しいですよ。
私の生活はとてもたのしいです、でも 忙しいも。

I wish I knew how to write "I miss," because I would write how much I miss my best friends Lauren Bird and Kelly Weaver, who are each, separately, an equally absurd distance away from me... which is not okay.

In other news, all of the above grammar was written entirely by me with no help from an external translator! All from my head. So, because of this, I certainly hope the kanji is correct, otherwise who knows what on earth I've written.

(Kanji = Chinese characters. The Japanese language is made up of three different alphabets, two of which are phonetic [ひらがな and カタカナ] and the last of which is the entire Chinese character list, which amounts to a ridiculous amount of incoherent shapes that all mean something different. Needless to say, it's insane. The end.)

I am writing this at three in the morning. It's sleepy time. ところで、ウィンストンさんが大好きだよ。(ウィンストンさんは私のボイフレンドです)

The Perfect Movie Trailer For the Epic Win

Ever notice how all film trailers are roughly the same?

...but obviously not too busy for a video game break

Ok: so the game "Portal" is an epic, epic piece of beauty and genius that deserves to be played by everyone.

It is, at once, scientific, genius, and makes you feel like you're in a first-person shooter even though it's actually just a huge puzzle where you never hurt anyone (except for small, apologetic robots)

It is from this game that the world derives the wonderful phrase:

"The cake is a lie."

Furthermore, once you beat the game, the woman robot voice (who you're trying to obey/discover/destroy for the entire game) sings you a little song at the end.

Note: Before the ending credits, you've just beaten the main robot lady computer thing. But seriously, the game SINGS to you! And it's ADORABLE!

But there's no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake!
And the science gets done, and you make a neat gun,
for the people who are still alive.

One word

BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY
BUSY

.....quite busy.

After you write it a whole bunch it stops looking like a real word.
